1972 Challenger Rallye
This 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller two years ago. Subsequent work included fitting a replacement 383ci Magnum V8, as well as replacing the floor pans, installing front and rear spoilers, and refreshing the interior. The car is finished in blue over black vinyl, and additional equipment consists of a Torqueflite automatic transmission, 14″ Magnum wheels, a pistol grip shifter, an AM radio, and quad exhaust outlets. This Challenger project is now offered at no reserve with a clean South Carolina title in the seller's name.
The body has been repainted in B5 Blue and features black side graphics along with a black rear panel as part of the Rallye package. The seller reportedly replaced the floor and trunk pans and added aftermarket headlights, a front spoiler, and an R/T badge on the front grille. Flaws include multiple deep scratches on the driver's door, rust bubbles on various panels, and other scratches around the body. Photos showing the car with rear window louvers and a rear spoiler are included in the gallery.
14″ Magnum Chrome Road Wheels are wrapped in Mastercraft Avenger G/T tires. A walk-around video is provided above.
The interior is trimmed in black and features high-back vinyl seats along with a replacement center console and door panels. Amenities include a heater, an AM radio, and a pistol grip shifter.
A two-spoke steering wheel with an aftermarket lace-up cover sits ahead of replacement Rallye package instruments, including a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and combination gauge that monitors fuel level, coolant temperature, battery charge, and oil temperature. The odometer has been reset to the zero, and true mileage is unknown.
The original 340ci V8 was replaced by the seller with a 383ci Magnum V8, and block casting 2468130 indicates a 383ci B-series big-block from 1959-1971. Equipment includes a four-barrel carburetor, Mopar Performance valve covers, and an aftermarket aluminum radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The seller states the car does not currently run and requires an electric fuel pump, which is included in the sale.
